ReliaQuest at Black Hat 2022

And that’s a wrap! Black Hat 2022 is over, and much like the Las Vegas weather, ReliaQuest came in hot. We had a great time chatting with attendees and customers, introducing our new product capabilities, and talking shop.

As always, we are incredibly proud to have been a part of Black Hat 2022. If you weren’t able to join us, here’s what went down.

Talking Up Our New Product Features

As you may have heard, we rolled out some exciting new features for our security operations platform, GreyMatter, and we spent a lot of time discussing the benefits with Black Hat attendees. The biggest release, Intelligent Analysis, drove a lot of excitement, and no wonder – getting answers to alerts in 20 minutes or less is kind of a big deal.

In case you missed it, here’s a tl;dr of the new product updates:

What’s new in GreyMatter:

    • New feature: Intelligent Analysis
    • Improvements to threat intelligence feeds
    • Digital Shadows threat insights and IOCs
    • Insight-rich GreyMatter home page
    • Additional ecosystem integrations
    • Microsoft 365 E5 support

Speaking Session Recaps

We love hosting speaking sessions at Black Hat, and this year was no exception. Thanks to those who attended in person or tuned in on-demand.

Operationalizing Threat Intelligence in Your Incident Response Program

We partnered with Digital Shadows, a ReliaQuest company, to host this session. Is your security operations center getting the most out of its threat intelligence? Joe Partlow, ReliaQuest CTO, and Rick Holland, Digital Shadows CISO, discussed how security teams should be using threat intelligence during investigations, hunts, and incident response.

Creating and Validating Security Content Using Simulated Attack Activity Leveraging On-Prem Assets

In this session, Brian P. Murphy, Chief Architect at ReliaQuest, asked, how do you know that your security content is good? The only way to make sure is by testing it. You can’t just assume that the content you’ve created or the product you’re creating is going to be secure, especially in a world where adversaries are constantly evolving and changing their tactics.

During the session, Murphy discussed why security teams should validate their security content against real-world attack activities instead of just using simulations alone.

Black Hat Is Over. What’s Next?

Black Hat is just one of the security conferences we sponsor every year. If you missed us in Vegas, catch us at one of our next events:

  • Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit, September 12–14, London, Booth #109.
  • RH-ISAC Cyber Intelligence Summit, September 20–21, Plano, Texas.
  • Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo, October 17–20, Orlando, Booth #946.

See you next year, Black Hat.
